Biharis are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group originating from the state of Bihar in India with a history going back three millennia. Biharis speak Bihari languages such as Magahi, Bhojpuri, Maithili, amongst other local dialects, as well as Hindi or Urdu. They can trace their ancestry to the early Indo-Aryans. In addition, the ethnic group shows some admixture with the early Munda inhabitants of the region as well as Iranic people who ruled the region in the past.
Besides the state of Bihar, Biharis can be found throughout North India, West Bengal, Maharashtra and also in the neighbouring countries of Pakistan and Bangladesh. A large number of Biharis traveled to various parts of the world in the 19th century to serve as indentured labour on sugarcane and rubber plantations in Guyana, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago, Fiji, Mauritius and Natal-South Africa. During partition of India in 1947, many Biharis of the Islamic faith migrated to East Bengal (later East Pakistan and subsequently Bangladesh). Bihari people are also well represented in Pakistan's (formerly West Pakistan) Muhajir population as a result of the partition of India, as well as the recent repatriation of some Bihari refugees from Bangladesh to Pakistan.

Bihar is a wounded civilization. Its a civilization which has nurtured many new ideas and thoughts which are alive till date. The state suffered immensely due to Hunnic and later Muslim invasions. The old traditions of culture and learning was almost lost by the end of 12th century. The culture and life style of the people of Bihar haven't changed past last many centuries. Resurgence in the history of Bihar came during the Indian independence struggle against the British rule.

Bihari is the name of the peoples from the modern state of Bihar. Bihari covers the larger, eastern half of the Bhojpuri speaking peoples, leaving the remaining Bhojpuri population in the division of Purvanchal (Eastern Uttar Pradesh). Bhojpuris have contributed significantly towards social, political and cultural identity in northern India, as well as Eastern Asia. This division between the western and eastern parts of the same ethno-linguistic people has created crisis of identiy in the region. Bhojpuris are a multi religious, multi ethnic, multi lingual society. Hinduism and Islam have both contributed greatly to the culture of the Eastern and Western portions of the Bhojpuri peoples. The last Sikh Guru was also born in Patna, whilst Jains also have a strong link to the region. And Sher Shah Suri introduced the Rupee, Custom Duties and built the Grand Trunk Road. Before Akbar the Great's civil reforms, Sher Shah had already brought the Hindu populations in to government and appointed Raja Hemu as his Prime Minister and the Head of the Imperial Army. Hemu was killed in 1556 at the second Battle of Panipat by Akbar and Biram Khan. They continued the Sui civil reforms.

So, being a Bhojpuri is the correct identity I would say. That makes us the largest population inside the India.

I will say we bihari's are real holy people because bihari's do not believe in all this worldly human insticnt as wordly maya is haram for us. We bihari's live in the Godly Varna Groups and folow with all the zeal and religious fervour of hatred steming from the Mukh of Narayan himself. Castism is divine and following it is the path of moksha. Only bihari knows this divinely truth as its in thier blood. Bihari thinks beyond this mrityulog, so what to talk of all the tasmic things like india, humanity etc.

Bihari's divine principle is castism & the Amrut of him/her being the blood of their lesser born caste. Jai Varna, Jai Ranvir, Jai Brahman, Jai Hindu, Maar Shudra ko, Maar Dalit ko, Maar Musalmaan ko. Jai Bihari.

Bihari does not know to be fool, by engrossed in worldly nuisanance of living as societel block called bihari. Yes for sometimes to save the Panchtatva Flesh from the worldly human beings who in name of tamsic gains and thoughts try to kill us, we then do cry at top of our voice in name of Indian and constitution.

According to me Godly Varna Groups were very materialistic and worldly initially. But their significance was lost and the system got corrupted. We are still carrying that past baggage, which doesn't have much significance today. New Varna Groups like Indians, Chinese, Japaneses, American etc are significant today and are capable of bringing material gains. Similarly in the context of India, Bihari Varna Group is the need of the hour and it can bring unity and prosperity in Bihar. But nothing is permanent. Perhaps one day Bihari, Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali .. too will become Godly Varna Groups. We need to change fast to meet our needs. The problem with the earlier Varna groups was that they practiced sectarian politics, which is unacceptable today.

Bihari's are required for the working hands in the farm, factories, malls, as sweepers on road, as skilled labours in office, corporates etc for the Indian's.

Bihari's in the indian cities needs to be kept in ghetto as in Gujarat Muslims are pushed too. :)
